BY YOUR SIDE
Sometimes it is tough to talk about the physical challenges, and emotional impact, of living with cancer with your partner, family or friends. The BY YOUR SIDE peer support service offers a safe space to chat with someone who understands what you are going through.
Our volunteer listeners all have their own cancer story and understand the benefits of chatting with someone who has 'been there'.
You can call or e-mail us to set up telephone or in person chat. We accept self referrals and referrals from other support professionals. Referral forms can be downloaded here
CARE PARCEL DELIVERIES
If you are struggling with your cancer diagnosis or treatment at home we can drop in on you with a special CANDU care parcel. This gift contains a selection of items which we hope will help you at this difficult time.
We will also stay for a chat if you wish and can offer practical and emotional support.
Care parcels are delivered by our trained, lived experience volunteer team.
You can call or e-mail us to arrange a care parcel delivery for yourself, a friend or family member.
TRANSPORT
CANDU offers a transport service, with volunteer drivers, providing lifts to and from appointments, to attend support services, for shopping trips and to help people visit friends and family.
