CANDU Volunteer Drivers

At CANDU, we offer a transportation service for those affected by cancer. This service can be a lifeline for those unable to drive, having treatment in another city, or are just not well enough to drive to and from treatments. It can also be an expense that people cannot afford, and at CANDU we take away the stress of going to appointments not only with transportation, but also with a friendly and understanding volunteer.

Not only do we offer this service for appointments, but we also offer transportation to our lodge in Blairgowrie. There clients with and recovering from cancer and their families can have a well-earned break in a comfortable and relaxing setting.

We are also able to help you access other cancer specific: CANDU wellbeing activities, Maggie's Cancer Care Centre and help with general support e.g shopping,

This is a crucial service at CANDU, and it can’t operate without volunteers. Do you think you can offer a few hours a month to help someone get out and about as needed?

What you need to become a volunteer driver.

  • A full, clean and current UK driver’s licence.

  • Your own vehicle.

  • Time to spare every month.

We will provide your PVG and volunteer training. Not only that, but this is a rewarding role, and you will be part of the CANDU family. We are a group of caring individuals who are close knit, with the best interests of those living with a cancer diagnosis at the heart of all we do.
